Snow. It snowed. Quite a bit. Enough that it was piled against the door. Thank goodness it is gone. But I did say this morning, after the power flickered off for about the 12th time, that I would not complain about the snow or the cold again today if the power would just stay on. I am now counting the minutes until midnight so I can complain, a little. It was pretty. But on the downside, it was so heavy and wet that it collapsed the netting on the run of the Icelandics. So for now they are penned up until the wind lets up a little. I was going to can some today, but we chose not to after the power flickers this morning. I was thankful to get hubby's breakfast cooked before he got out the door, quite late :)
So I made some yogurt. We will see how that turns out. Hopefully better than the cottage cheese experiment.
I would like to start baking, but it is too late in the day.
I need to figure out supper. I forgot to thaw out what we needed for today. Trying to get back into a schedule. It isn't working.

Wow.... 5 months has gone by that quickly. Still not pregnant again. Another betrayal. I don't know what to do about it. How to heal. I need to heal. None of the little ones have a clue what is going on, and I plan to keep it that way. Daily life is much the same. Added a cow. Twice a day milking now. Takes a bit more time. We have been doing a lot of canning. The kids have had an amazing summer out here. Can't imagine them ever living in town again. So much adventure. Give them a row of big, round bales and they are happy for a long time. Literally have to drag them off of them. The hide and seek, the pirate games, the scavenger hunts, the nature walks into the "dark woods". Give a 4 year old a pair of overalls to wear and he becomes an instant farmer. Potatoes still to dig, and a small row of carrots. Apples galore. Between the apples trees in the front yard and the big one across the pond, there are a lot of apples. Need to pick and can...apple butter, apple rings, apple pie filling. Still have squash to can. Some shredded zucchini. Want to try and can some milk. We have put up some beans, some pork, some carrots, and lots of tomatoes. Not as many as I wanted to, but any is better than none. Goal is 1000 jars in a year. We have a new challenge right now, and that is 2 canners a week. From now until the end of April. That will give 364 jars. Not a 1000, but more that we have. Even if I am down to canning beans all winter. Then I can have good ones to use all Spring and Summer. Want to can some ground beef, but we'll see where we get with that. Oh yeah... and beets. We canned beets, and I have more to go.
