day 101..... a sad day

It was a sad day for us. One of our kitties fell ill last night and we took her to the vet first thing this morning only to find out she had Feline Leukemia. The recommended course of action was to put her down as she was failing quickly. It is a very hard thing when you have to choose to do that for your pet. It is still just unbelievable to me how fast she got sick. There were no warning signs with her. Now to have another kitty tested next week and hope nothing turns up.

day 100!!!!!!!

I will start by saying... GO ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 100 days!!! I came close to missing one or two, but we did it. I was hoping for something profound for this one, but alas... I was still under the weather, so I was not expecting great things. That brings us to today's picture. I usually don't use blurry pictures, but after supper, while enjoying dessert, the younger ones started chanting, "Caitie and Cody, Sitting in a tree...." Yeah, you know the one. Well, then Trevin started saying it with the wrong boyfriend name. Next thing you know, her cake came out of her nose. Needless to say, a VERY hearty round of laughter ensued.

day 99..... defective sunflower

This was supposed to be one of the large faced ones with edible seeds. Hmm.... doesn't look like it is going to make it there.

day 98..... a long needed fun day

We took a day and went to Turtle River State Park. We love in the Spring, we love it in the Summer, and now we really love it in the Fall. The colors are starting to turn amazing colors up there.

day 96..... boo-ya yummy

Trevin is a very expressive little boy. Tonight he declared the hot cocoa and whipped cream was "Boo-Ya Yummy!!!"

day 95..... scenic drive

This is one of my favorite roads to drive on in North Dakota. It is in Grand Forks County, which boasts the largest number of shelter belts in the world. When we first moved up here and saw the signs, I giggled. But, let me tell you something, after seeing it for the first time in full Autumn swing, I giggled no more. The colors are absolutely amazing. And again in the Spring, a beautiful sight indeed. We are about a week or two away from that fall status right now. They are just starting to turn, which tells me I need to carefully plan another shopping trip to Grand Forks very, very soon.

day 93..... another one of my favorite things

These things are wonderful. I have several in this size and some bigger ones also. I picked them up for a buck a piece. The girls have used them for make-up caddies, nail salon, we've used them for 4th of July outings for condiments, used one for bug spray and sunscreen, and I have used them for craft projects and themed projects for the school scene.

day 92..... movie zombies

Telling you..... you give them popcorn and a movie and this is what happens to them. I see now in the picture that they managed to "forget" the last of the laundry behind them though.

day 91..... a new book

I have plans for this book... and I will tell you all about them tomorrow as I am worn out.

day 89..... baker Hazen

Lexi decided to make some banana bread today, and she let Hazen help. Complete with my polka dotted apron. He had a little too much fun!

day 88..... Sir Bastard

This is Sebastian. He is a feisty Blue Persian. He runs the place. He has earned his nickname many times over. He will flop down and nap wherever he pleases. On this day, it happened to be face down in my kitchen window. He hasn't been frequenting the window scene since this current cold snap hit. For him it is going to be a very long winter once it gets here.

day 86..... these are a few of my favorite things

These are my new favorite things. I had some in the bedroom, I currently am loving in my kitchen, and tomorrow, I plan on adding more of them to the school area. They come in 3 different sizes, and one of the sizes has removable dividers. They are good for just about everything.

day 85..... boys...

Boys will use anything for a gun. Even when they are never around them. It is like some natural instinct that they are born with. Here, Hazen is taking advantage of a tub of Thomas the Train pieces that are sitting on the table while we were going to vacuum. It came complete with gun/shooting noises. Boys...

day 83..... my new favorite scrubber

Love these things. These are completely out of recycled plastic pop bottles. They don't leave a nasty rust spot on the counter or sink when "certain people" forget them sitting there. Perfect for fragile items like our good dishes, but also stands up to the scrubbing jobs like burnt on food in a skillet. After they use the soap up in them, I like them to scrub out my cast iron.

day 82..... day trippin'

Had a great day trip to Sulleys Hill National Game Preserve. Didn't get a buffalo fix, but saw plenty of little prairie dogs in their village to get some entertainment. Click on the prairie dog pic to enlarge it and see the little boogers.

day 80..... Sophie's art

I bought this dry erase board for Brian to put in his office. That way when I take phone messages for him in regard to his computer calls, I can write them on there. Sophie decided to make good use of it. It is a unicorn telling Sophie that he loves her, and her telling the unicorn that she loves him also. Now, I have a wonderful piece of art on it that I don't have the heart to clean off. *sigh* I guess I can give him the one I got for me in the kitchen, but she would probably just decorate that one as well.

day 79.....bang bang choo choo train

They filled the entire freaking living room. They were going everywhere. I seriously lost count of how many trains there were, but there were a lot of them. And 1 little Thomas train isn't very loud, but when you get several of them all going at once, and you are already sporting the beginnings of one helluva headache, they are quite something else to hear. And Lexi... well, she was the gang leader this time. I thought she might go restore a little order... No. She had more out than when I left. Gotta love her.

day 76..... chilly day

It was quite a chilly day. This was taken at about 1:45 this afternoon. Factor in the drizzle to pouring rain and it was downright cold at times.
